Three Pillars, One Network: Raghuram Rajan and Zita Cobb on Connecting Communities, Governments and Markets

“Healthy communities are essential for sustaining vibrant market democracies.”
– Dr. Raghuram Rajan in his book The Third Pillar: How Markets and the State Leave the Community Behind (2019)
Places are where the real work of building a good economy takes place. Raghuram Rajan, Professor at University of Chicago and author of The Third Pillar: How Markets and the State Leave the Community Behind (2019), names communities as the forgotten foundation of a healthy society.
Join Professor Rajan and Zita Cobb, Founder and CEO of the Shorefast Institute for Place-Based Economies, on Thursday, July 9 at 2:30pm (NL) / 1:00pm (ET) / 10:00am (PT) for a conversation about what it takes to strengthen the role of community in the Canadian economy.
From that conversation, we will turn to Shorenet – the Shorefast Institute’s growing network of communities building local economic stewardship. The webinar will close with a live walkthrough of the Shorenet platform and Q&As from the audience.
